Curio House co-founders Amanda and Hillary are self-professed content junkies (with the DMs to prove it) with a constant focus on trends and an intuition for future movements. They first crossed paths while both in marketing at Chick-fil-A, Inc. and immediately connected over their shared love of how good food can only be made better by great stories. In 2020, Hillary joined Amanda at another iconic organization, L.L.Bean, to help establish the brand’s first external communications department.
Curio House was born from their shared belief in the power of storytelling - and that more brands should effectively leverage nostalgia - reaching back to pull forward the timeless truths that matter.
Hillary Thompson
Perhaps owing to her small town roots, she has a passion for storytelling that began at her family dinner table. While her formal education is in Environmental Sciences, her career has spanned the development and execution of QSR menu strategy to environmental corporate initiatives to the development of brand narratives and their articulation through award-winning social media and public relations campaigns.
Never satisfied with just a “day job”, Hillary also launched multiple entrepreneurial endeavors prior to Curio House. Most notably, Morsel in 2016 - an unapologetically nostalgic guide to Atlanta restaurants. Counter to trendy blogs at the time, Morsel was artfully designed, printed, and mailed to subscribers - earning plaudits from restauranteurs and critics. Following the success of Morsel came a supper series in Apalachicola, Florida, called Sundown Social. Co-hosted with a lifelong friend, each supper started just as the sun went down and highlighted local farmers and purveyors over a multi-course meal intended to evoke the regional heritage of the Gulf Coast and foster kinship around the table.

Amanda Hannah
Amanda has always been enamored with stories and the many ways in which they can be brought to life. This love of storytelling led to a degree in Communications and has been followed by a nearly twenty-year career at multiple, legendary brands.
Her experience spans from international crisis communications to new product launches, reputation management, brand collaborations and most recently, standing up the first external communications department for a 111-year-old outdoor brand.
With an ardent love for the beauty and wellness space, Amanda is passionate about conscious living. This led her to launch a small-batch apothecary in 2021 which draws on the plant-powered remedies and rituals passed down by her grandmothers. This all-natural line of everyday shower and bath essentials includes mindfulness practices right on the label, designed to help others slow down and reconnect with their mind, body and spirit,
